Once again this year, the Interactive Media Lab gave a short presentation of their current and past research projects to the new students of our faculty’s computer science programs.
Marc Satkowski, former PhD student at the Interactive Media Lab Dresden, received the
Cloud&Heat award as part of the OutputDD, an exhibition of the Faculty of Computer Science at Technische Universität Dresden, on June 13th. The award was presented for his outstanding dissertation “Understanding Immersive Environments for Visual Data Analysis“.
On December 19, 2023, Marc Satkowski successfully defended his PhD thesis.
With his topic “Understanding Immersive Environments for Visual Data Analysis“, he investigated how future AR applications, specifically presenting information visualizations, need to be designed in a human-centered way.
The IEEE VIS 2021 (IEEE Visualization & Visual Analytics) took place from October 24 to 29, where our group presented two contributions.
On July 7, 2021, Tom Horak successfully defended his PhD thesis.
His topic Visual Data Analysis in Device Ecologies addresses the question, how multiple co-located computing devices can be used in synergistic combination for facilitating visual data exploration and analysis.
The DFG funded Research Training Group 2323 “Conducive Design of Cyber-physical Production Systems” was launched in September 2018. We will conduct research in the three areas adaptation strategies for changeable systems, development and maintenance of competences as well as assessment and evaluation of human states. Research is focused on two industrial application domains, i.e., mobile agricultural systems and modular process plants.
The Research Training Group is highly interdisciplinary involving PhD students from the fields of psychology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. For our Interactive Media Lab we are happy to welcome Marc Satkowski as a new research assistant in this RTG starting in October 2018.
