From April 19 to 22, 2026, the Dagstuhl Seminar “Exertion and Fatigue in Body-Based Interactive Systems” took place at Schloss Dagstuhl. Among the invited participants was our group member Katja Krug, who contributed to the interdisciplinary exchange.

This seminar brought together researchers from Human-Computer Interaction, biomechanics, ergonomics, and cognitive psychology to explore the role of fatigue in body-based interaction. A key goal was to reconsider fatigue not only as a limitation, but as an integral aspect of interaction design.

As is characteristic for Dagstuhl Seminars, the event took place in a remote setting and focused on intensive group discussions and breakout sessions to collaboratively explore current challenges and future directions of the field.

A report summarizing the outcomes of the seminar will be published by Schloss Dagstuhl.
